Nicola Benge – Cultural Project Management
Creative. Collaborative. Community-focused.
I am an experienced cultural project manager, producer and trainer with a passion for bringing stories to life. I design and deliver imaginative, inclusive projects that span the heritage, arts, education, social care, and health sectors.
What I Do
I lead creative, community-based projects that:
- Celebrate cultural heritage and lived experience
- Engage diverse audiences through reminiscence, oral history and intangible heritage
- Connect partners and communities through meaningful collaboration
- Deliver exhibitions, resources, events and training that leave a lasting legacy

How I Work
With over 20 years’ experience:
- Build strong partnerships across sectors
- Secure and manage funding
- Design dynamic public programmes
- Motivate teams and participants through thoughtful engagement and outreach
- Deliver on time, with care, professionalism and a creative spark
Why It Matters
My work gives voice to underrepresented stories and builds bridges between people, places and history. I specialise in projects that celebrate identity, memory, and community – turning archives, lived experience, and local knowledge into vibrant public experiences.
I am accomplished in supporting and motivating organisations and groups through participation and outreach, whilst managing programmes to improve cultural heritage, engagement, and support social development.
Cultural Heritage
My work involves creating new events and themes to showcase this heritage with dynamic schemes to engage audiences. A key aim is developing and collating existing information and materials, whilst forming a strategy to encourage the celebration and promotion of arts and heritage and cultural quarters.
I encourage participation and outreach through projects involving reminiscence, oral history, and archive material to involve a wide range of communities in creative activities.
I am successful in fulfilling outcomes through exhibitions, resources and events for national organisations and charities, using these skills and my enthusiasm and focus to inform my work as a producer.

“Thank you so very much for all you have done – for your organisational skills, your patience, your attention to detail … and your ability to corral! If we stand any chance of making this wonderful idea of a project into something bigger and wider, its success will depend on having someone just like you involved. I wish you luck and happiness in all that comes next and hope, very much, that our paths cross again soon.”
