Nicola Benge – Cultural Project Management
I am an experienced, professional project manager
I am a long-term professional project manager and producer with extensive experience devising, facilitating and delivering cultural projects across sectors including educational, health, heritage and the arts.
My work involves collaboration and design with partners to manage projects, activities and events for successful delivery. In these roles, I am confident, well-networked, and skilled in engaging creatively with development, fundraising, partnerships and products.
I am accomplished in supporting and motivating organisations and groups through participation and outreach, whilst managing programmes to improve cultural heritage, engagement, and support social development.
My work involves creating new events and themes to showcase this heritage with dynamic schemes to engage audiences. A key aim is developing and collating existing information and materials, whilst forming a strategy to encourage the celebration and promotion of arts and heritage and cultural quarters.
I encourage participation and outreach through projects involving reminiscence, oral history, and archive material to involve a wide range of communities in creative activities.
I am successful in fulfilling outcomes through exhibitions, resources and events for national organisations and charities, using these skills and my enthusiasm and focus to inform my work as a producer.

“I worked with Nicola Benge on several projects during the centenary of the First World War. She was a highly regarded and trusted community partner, who created and managed a series of successful community heritage projects. Nicola is both professional and inspiring, and I would be keen to work with her again.”
“Nicola Benge was very professional and diligent in her project management of heritage and reminiscence focussed projects. She has a wealth of experience, knowledge and contacts to draw upon and is a positive asset to any project team.”
“As the Development Worker for the English Heritage project, Creative Landscapes, Nicola has consistently shown commitment, organisation and imagination in her work. She has supported the establishment of the Heritage Open Days team with quiet persistence and strong facilitation. It was through her determination that the project in Hastings received the Inspire Mark.”
“The Mayor of Brighton & Hove, Councillor Geoff Wells, and Deputy Mayor Councillor Ann Norman, have asked me to write to say how sorry they are that your excellent Project in our city has come to an end. The Council, the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and past Mayors, have been very aware of all the hard work, energy and enthusiasm you have put into the Project and how much good has resulted from it – and value greatly everything you have achieved. They have asked me to pass on to you, personally, their thanks for all you have done, and their best wishes’”
